Hey – I’m Ry, the Stats Guy.. I’ve been a professional “stats guy” (yeah, that’s a thing) for nearly half my life, covering the NHL behind the scenes on broadcasts.

[ An open letter to freedom seekers ]

1,500+ live games later I’ve pretty much covered everything from Cup Finals, to Olympics, to even spending 70+ days in the Edmonton Playoff bubble.

My job is to dig deep into the numbers to find interesting storylines to add more context around the game we love.

There’s something inherently interesting about stats & there is no question that fans enjoy and appreciate a great stat

That’s when the lightbulb turned on and I decided to launch The Stats Guy..

I’m not trying to sell you anything, this is completely free to join.. I respect your time, so I’ll only send what I believe is interesting and unique.

But it finally dawned on me.. after countless hours of researching week after week, year after year only a fraction of what I find makes it on air or ever sees the light of day.

My goal is to make you the smartest fan in the room. Give you the insider edge. Think of me as your personal Stat Sherpa.
